Opposition in all things!

Yesterday was an exciting day! It started out like an ordinary day that seemed to be following every other day of our lives but quickly turned into a day of all emotions. We were taking the kids to the library for story time when we were struck by another car. She had the right of way, unfortunately, but let me tell you all the events. We were right by the library at a stop sign. We stopped completely, looked both ways, then proceeded into the intersection. A car was parked in the red zone blocking our view but, we had looked and didn't see anything. All of a sudden I just heard a crash and felt us get jerked a bit. Caleb started crying and we were all in a bit of shock but all okay. Her car was completely smashed in the front, both of her air bags deployed on her and her passenger, and she had just bought her car on Saturday. She hit right into the front driver side tire which has more than likely broken our front axle. We are waiting on a prognosis so we'll let you know. . . But after we got home from the whole thing we had a nice letter waiting for us from BYU finally telling us that Ryan has officially been accepted. Good thing since our move, getting out of the AF and everything else has been pending on this:). What a day!

Outings

I'm afraid the kids will go on strike once Ryan starts school and they are once again stuck at home with me. Dad is so much more fun! He was out driving around with the kids and saw the fire truck out for a test run of the ladder. They pulled off the road to watch, when the fire fighter waved them over to come and try it out! That made a little boy's day! Nothing like that happens with Mom--It's laundry or errands or cleaning up!

Here are a few of my favorite things!! First, I really do love the mountains surrounding Provo. This is such an incredible place to live but it is also incredibly cold!! It's been quite a shock for me coming back to this even after spending more than half of my life in the snow. I can see why California is becoming overcrowded. You can't keep those kinds of secrets for very long. Second, I love all the surprises that BYU has to offer. We saw these six deer eating all the bushes and trees outside of the Marriott Center. I think they were waiting for the game to start. Really living in an LDS College town has been a bit of a shock. In the public library a kid was singing at the top of his lungs, Follow the Prophet, then two other kids across the library started to join in. Third, my in-laws have this amazing pet for our kids. They've begged and pleaded for a dog for several years--now we get to pet and play but we don't have to walk and remember to feed. It's been pretty great. I'm happy to be here.

williams

Here we are, settled in to our new home. We've kicked our parents down to the basement and taken over the Master bedroom. What a life! We really have been so blessed and feel that we are getting situated. Soph started school and loves her new teacher. The other two are settling in to their days with Dad while I go substitute teach. So far, so good as far as that goes. There's a lot of need in this area for subbing so that's what I'll be doing through May. One of the highlights for the kids has been the inheritance of Uncle Greg's dog, Zeus. Nanna Bean was approached and the kids struck up a deal to take over responsibilities for us to have him. He's a good dog and just lays there while the kids pet and maul him. They all would stay outside all day with him despite the 20 degree weather! Ryan got a great job at a music school as a Manager which will be ideal for him. We'd love to hear from all of you and hope you'll keep in touch!
